Legal Assistant – Insurance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a respected national law firm with a longstanding reputation for excellence, collaboration and client service.
Supporting a team of highly regarded lawyers within a specialist Insurance Litigation practice, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of a busy and successful team. Working across a broad range of matters including financial lines, health and employment practices liability claims, you will become a trusted support person and key contributor to the team's success.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with approachable and supportive leaders who are committed to mentoring and empowering their support staff. It is ideally suited to a Legal Assistant with insurance litigation experience who is seeking a quality part-time opportunity within a genuinely supportive and flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing electronic and physical files, including opening, maintaining and archiving matters
- Monthly billing, debtor management and reporting
- Drafting and preparing legal correspondence and court documents
- Coordinating the filing and service of court documents
- Preparing briefs to counsel, medical experts and other specialists
- Diary management, meeting coordination and travel arrangement
- Liaising with clients, barristers, experts and other stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with client service standards and firm procedures
- Providing general administrative support to a team of solicitors at varying levels
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant within defendant insurance litigation
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and court documentation
- Experience using legal practice management, billing and document management systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, professional and client-focused approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business
- A high level of attention to detail and ownership over your work
