As the firm continues to grow, a fantastic opportunity has opened for a detail-driven Paralegal to join their banking and finance team.

The Role
Supporting experienced lawyers across retail mortgage, banking and finance files, you'll play a key role in progressing matters from start to finish. With an offshore team supporting tasks like document checking, you'll manage a busy, varied workload. Day to day, you'll:

• Manage and progress retail mortgage, banking and finance files under supervision (up to 100 files monthly)
• Prepare, review and collate legal documents for mortgage and finance transactions
• Assist with conveyancing and property-related aspects of finance matters
• Liaise with clients, lenders, brokers, borrowers, agents and other legal representatives
• Conduct searches, order certificates and obtain relevant matter information
• Manage file openings, checklists, compliance requirements and matter administration
• Assist with settlements, including electronic settlements via PEXA
• Review executed documents for completeness and accuracy
• Follow up outstanding documents, instructions and stakeholder responses
• Maintain accurate file notes and records within the practice management system

About You

• Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Legal Support professional within a law firm
• Exposure to conveyancing, property, banking, finance or mortgage-related matters
• An understanding of retail banking and mortgage transactions highly regarded
• PEXA and electronic settlements experience advantageous
• Strong document preparation, file management and administrative skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Confident liaising with clients and external stakeholders professionally
• Able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
• A proactive, organised and team-focused approach, with a genuine interest in banking and finance law
